Worcester band Shellshock formed in February 2005 when four
members, whose paths had crossed many times on the local
circuit, decided to join forces.
Each band member had been a regular on the local music scene for quite a few years with various outfits, all playing original material. However when it became apparent that rock stardom wasn't to be, the guys drifted away from the scene, and took up proper jobs.  Having each spent a couple of years away from the music scene, the urge to play again began to take hold, and a chance meeting one night between the bass player and the guitarist in a local pub (where else) led to the start of this new adventure, with the emphasis being on having fun!!!  After a very expensive trip to a Birmingham equipment store, and the addition of a drummer and a vocalist, Shellshock was born and quickly began to beat some songs into shape. As all four band members had only ever played in original material bands,  the mutual feeling was that it would be great to
play songs they had always wanted to play, but had never had a
chance to, and so a lively covers set began to take shape.With determination to avoid the same old songs that band after band churn out, Shellshock have always strived for variety in their song selection, and this policy has clearly paid off, with the band nurturing a unique sound and set list.  Shellshock will continue to challenge themselves by tackling songs old and new that, while not being obvious choices, have been bringing delight to fans of current music, while at the same time taking the more mature members of their audience on a trip down memory lane.
